Completes system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and management of various Linux systems and applications. Maintains and updates the enterprise Linux platform. Resolves complex trouble tickets.

Desired Skills and Experience

-Experience with patch management tools and OS hardening.

-Experience with Red Had Enterprise Linux system administration

-Experience with automation tools and scripting, including Puppet, shell scripting, or other scripting language

-Competent understanding of TCP/IP networking for LAN and WAN.

-Able to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.

-Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details.

-Strong analytical, trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.

-Exposure to Hadoop like distributed architecture practices

-Experience and familiarity with ITIL process and practice is preferred

-Strong analytical and problem ownership skills.

-Self-starter who is innovative and motivated to succeed

-Excellent communication, teamwork and customer service skills.

-Bachelor’s degree preferred, associate’s degree in Computer Systems, a related field, or equivalent education required.

-Minimum of 8 years’ system administration experience; Expert knowledge of Linux operating system

-Administrative scripting experience with either Perl/Python/shell scripting

-Experience performing centralized patch management in an enterprise environment

-Expert ability to automate deployment of Enterprise Linux.

-Advanced certification in any Enterprise Linux.

-Expert understanding of Linux integration concerns (Hardware, Networking, Storage, and Virtualization).Expert understanding of OS operation in a cross-platform environment (Linux/Windows/other Unix operating systems). Proven experience in architecting, maintaining, and developing IT infrastructure

Strong Pluses

-Ability to lead and engage cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience.

-Able to train/mentor other admins as needed.
