Job Description

The Candidate  & Work Profile

A movitaved and experienced Business Development Manager to lead the Business Development Team to support the delivery of a number of strategic Business Development projects, which are cricital to achieving the agreed Business Priorities. 

Working closely with partners to help grow their practices in and collaborating with other practices and Clifford Chance offices.

Responsible for advising partners on competitive tenders, client and market development; including relationship management and planning, client and matter reviews, and the development of thought leadership and effective marketing channels.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deepening Strategic Client Relationships – supporting specific client relationship partners in developing and implementing strategic client plans, reviewing fee arrangements, conducting relationship and matter reviews, and developing ideas/concepts for value-added services, such seminars and client facing briefings.
  • Supporting the Client Progamme – Actively involved in the Client Programme, which will including working closely with the client relationship partner to oversee the relationship, organising internal client team meetings, market research, developing and updating client plans and being a champion for implemeneting the the overall CRM strategy.
  • Competitive Tenders – Working alongside partners and laweyrs and, pricing and best delivery specialist to develop high quality pitches and capability statements and respond to RFPs in support of new and expanded business opportunities.  Reviewing pitch processes to suggest improvements with the aim of delivering a more cost effective and efficient service, using the GSSC Team in Dehli.
  • Developing Business/Marketing Pans – supporting partners in developing annual business plans for their practices, including conducting analyses and producing corresponding marketing strategies.
  • Market Pofile & Comms – Developing campaigns for increasing the market profile and reputation of the Saudi office, which strengthens our sector focus. Executing communication strategies to deliver successfully each campaign.
  • Directory Submissions – using deal flow information in Matter Capture databases for Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR directory listings, and arranging for partner interviews in support of annual submissions.
  • Matter Capture – capture and report transactions so the information can be fed to appropriate league tables.
  • Other – supporting cross-practice business development initiatives (client receptions, Africa Seminar Programme) and working on all  matters to support Business Priorities of the of the offices.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Fluent Arabic & English speaker.
  • Demonstrated track record of business development/marketing experience in a law firm or professional services firm (5 years minimum).
  • A global mindset and perspective.
  • Ability to develop advisory relationships with partners by demonstrating:
    • excellent oral and written communication skills;
    • strong analytical skills;
    • proactive, can-do manner;
    • ability to work on own initiative;
    • a consultative, collaborative approach;
    • ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing needs;
    • an understanding of our clients' commercial objectives and marketplace; and
