Job Description
We are seeking a QA Engineer with experience in manual and automation testing for a contract-to-hire role that can be remote/telecommuting or sit out of Reston, VA or Ranco Cordova, CA.
- Design and develop automation test scripts based on the existing framework and enhance where needed
- Develop manual test cases and participate in manual testing as required for project releases
- Identify and prepare test data for testing using SQL queries
- Provide estimates for the testing level of efforts for automation testing
- Communicate with Business/Systems Analysts/Developers/Testers to understand/clarify requirements
- Identify, report, and manage defects in the defect tracking system
- Identify and communicate risks to the Project team
- Provide regular updates to the Test/Project Manager
- Provide technical information for Change Requests meetings
- Participate in systems requirement reviews and team meetings when necessary
- Maintain test and automation documentation
- Work collaboratively across various functional areas across the project and provide UAT support as needed
Qualifications
- 8+ years’ experience in automation and manual functional testing
- Experience in building automated test scripts based on existing framework and enhance as needed.
- Experience in Se/Python for test automation
- Thorough understanding of all phases of SDLC in an AGILE environment
- Experience with SQL queries, REST based WebServices, APIs Web Applications.
- Knowledge of CI/CD environment
- Experience working in Cloud/Hybrid applications
- Experience in Performance Testing
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Test Management and defect tracking tools
- Understanding of DevOps practice to support continuous integration, build and deploy process
Additional Skills / Knowledge Preferred:
- Healthcare Industry experience is preferred
- BDD experience is a plus
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, computer science, statistics, or a related field;
Additional Information
This W2 contract-to-hire role can be remote/telecommuting or can sit in Reston, VA, or Rancho Cordova, CA. Due to the Federal projects supported, this role U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency will be required for this role.
