We are seeking a strategic, meticulous, and experienced Human Resources Lead to anchor our employment practices. In this critical half-day role, you will provide the structural backbone for our workforce, balancing rigorous legal compliance with the compassionate, values-driven ethos of a well recognised school.

    Job Description

    Core Responsibilities

    • Labour Law & Risk:  Ensure full compliance with SA Labour Law (LRA, BCEA, EEA).  Act as the school’s expert on Employment Equity, managing the EE plan, reporting, and committee facilitation.
    • Contracts & Performance:  Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of all staff contracts, ensuring absolute accuracy and legal alignment. Implement and oversee a structured, fair performance management framework.
    • Disciplinary & Employee Relations:  Lead all disciplinary inquiries and grievance procedures with neutrality and professional integrity, ensuring fair outcomes in line with best practices.
    • Staff Development:  Manage the training landscape for all staff; identifying skills gaps, sourcing bespoke training programmes, and overseeing the Skills Development (SDA) portfolio.
    • Staff Wellbeing:  Monitor organizational health, mitigate burnout risks, and ensure a safe, professional, and lawful environment for all members of the school’s community.

    Qualifications

    Key Requirements

    • Relevant HR qualification with 5-8 years of HR Generalist/Management experience (Education background is a significant bonus).
    • Expert knowledge of SA labour law and a proven track record in Employment Equity and Contract Management.
    • High emotional maturity, neutrality in conflict, and the courage to hold boundaries within a close-knit school environment.
    • Meticulous administrative skills and proficiency in HR Management software (e.g., Sage 300)
