Job Description

Property & Concessions Management makes recommendations for new business relationships and manages existing business relationships with nonprofit and for-profit organizations for the benefit of Parks & Recreation users and the community at large.  Reporting to the Director of Property and Concessions Management, the Park Concessions Manager serves as the day-to-day liaison with all property tenants and concessionaires, troubleshooting issues and ensuring lease and concession agreement compliance. This position consults with the Director of Property, Concessions Management, and other PPR leadership/staff on the reinvestment of funds generated from the property and concessions program. The Manager also actively develops new concession and event opportunities to activate in Parks & Recreation spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the guidance of the Director of Properties and Concessions Management to initiate and implement new business opportunities and partnerships such as concessions, activations and seasonal events.
  • Serves as Parks & Recreation’s point of contact for new business opportunities and partnerships originating from all sources including partner organizations, industry contacts and the public.
  • Facilitates lessees’ and concessionaires’ interaction with City departments.
  • Consult with the appropriate parties on the reinvestment of funds from the Park Programs and Facilities Fund. Facilitates and coordinates the completion of projects using those funds with PPR staff and PPR partners.
  • Provides guidance in the processing of concession fee income and project funds through PIDC and the Fairmount Park Conservancy.
  • Provides oversight of the preparation of files, records, accounting reports and inspection reports.
  • Assures that the required reports and information from lessees and concessionaires are obtained as required by agreement.
  • Works with lessees, concessionaires and the Law Department to update and amend agreements as required.
  • Troubleshoots any issues related to concessions and properties, including Performo work order repair submissions.
  • Raises lessee and concessionaire performance issues to the appropriate parties in an effective and timely manner and recommend solutions.
  • Prepares draft Requests for Proposals.
  • Prepares ordinance fact sheets for submission to City Council.
  • Assists in the preparation of leases and licenses by preparing draft terms of agreement.

Work-Life

Position requires on-site work and work hours are a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Some late nights and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university with major coursework  in Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years experience working with business and/or real estate contracts.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in project management.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in local government or a non-profit environment preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of administrative policies, procedure and laws regarding City contracts is desirable
  • Proficient in computer software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Program Management Software, etc.).
