Agency Description

The Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service (MOCEVS) is committed to increasing long term, sustainable civic engagement throughout the city. To support this goal, we offer a variety of training opportunities for community members, nonprofit partners and City agencies. In addition, we support internal and cross-sector convening and collaboration to reduce silos and increase efficiency and efficacy of engagement and volunteer programs and tactics. MOCEVS is housed within the Mayor’s Office of Public Engagement.

Job Description

The Coordinator will be responsible for successfully administering the Community Resource Corps, a citywide program designed to connect residents to anti-poverty benefits and resources. The ideal candidate for this role will be a fast paced and innovative problem solver, who excels at building trusting relationships and managing equity centered community engagement programs within low wealth and multicultural communities.

We’re hiring multiple Coordinators to specialize in different aspects of this program, including data management and partnership development. Candidates are encouraged to apply, even if they do not have experience in all these areas. The duties, competencies and qualifications below are exhaustive to include the responsibilities of our entire Coordinator team.

Essential Functions

These positions require a mix of telework and in person duties, including evening and weekend hours. Each of our Coordinators will complete these standard essential functions:

• Supervise a regional team of between four (4) and five (5) part time members.

• Support setting and measuring program goals.

• Support in compiling and submitting program reports.

• Support in conducting annual member recruitment, hiring and onboarding.

• Support in offboarding process

• Provide training and support the entire corps in respective areas

• Collectively as a team of coordinators, hold members accountable for accomplishing goals, objectives and expectations of the program

• Supervise a member assignment team

In addition to the standard essential functions above, the Data Coordinator will:

• Manage program platforms, including NGP VAN, Mini VAN and Hustle.

• Work alongside Field and Partnerships Coordinators to develop and run outreach campaigns

• Conduct research and collaborate with program partners to develop data management and reporting processes.

• Train members and program staff on data management and reporting processes.

• Act as point person for tech training and troubleshooting

•Lead Data and Tech member support group

In addition to the standard essential functions above, the Recruitment Coordinator will:

• Develop a targeted recruitment strategy that aligns with the Community Resource Corps mission and goals

• Outreach with City agencies, community based organizations and others and build a pipeline of potential candidates for the CRC Program.

• Lead annual member recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes.

• Coordinate recruitment outreach events.

In addition to the standard essential functions above, the Partnerships Coordinator will:

• Collaborate with program partners and staff to determine priority benefit and resource assignments

• Support partners in completing the partnership intake form

• Collaborate with the data and outreach to develop service delivery plans

•Work with partners to determine goals of service delivery projects.

• Act as the point person to coordinate requests for members to attend additional events from other City agencies

• Lead Data and Tech member support group

• Support members with technical assistance with resource sharing projects

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the Coordinators should have experience with most of the bullet points below.

We also welcome candidates that have non-professional experience in these areas. For example, lived or volunteer experience can be just as valuable as professional experience.

Our primary qualifications for this position include:

• Community engagement experience, preferably in campaign, government or nonprofit settings. We’re looking for people who lead community engagement that centers accessibility, diversity, equity, inclusion and trauma informed best practices.

• Relationship management experience, preferably collaborating with low wealth and multicultural communities. We’re looking for someone who can build authentic, long term relationships across lines of difference, like race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, class, ability, citizenship status and other identities.

• Project management experience, preferably developing and implementing projects within new programs.

We’re looking for someone who can efficiently manage a high volume of work and create sustainable systems for reliably accomplishing that work.

• Understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion principles, preferably with experience advancing equitable project outcomes. We’re looking for someone who can identify ways in which identity and power show up in our work, as well as demonstrate continuous growth by creating opportunities for evaluation and reflection.

• Complete a mix of telework and in person duties.

• Maintain a flexible work schedule for occasional evening and weekend hours.

Our secondary qualifications for this position would be nice to have, but are not necessary to apply.

Those include:

• Staff or volunteer management experience, preferably managing geographically dispersed teams.

• Data management experience, particularly with NGP VAN and Hustle.

• Experience managing or knowledge about career development programs.

• Already existing relationships with community based organizations and residents in Philadelphia’s lowest wealth communities.

• AmeriCorps service experience.

Salary Range: $57,000 - $60,000
