Job Description

The City of Seminole is seeking a Recreation Program Coordinator. This position is involved in the development, management, and organization of Athletics and Fitness programs, including youth and adult sport leagues, and fitness classes/events for participants ranging from preschoolers to seniors. This position will also assist the Department in Esports and various special events.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to be a self-starter, aware of trends in fitness and athletics, and exercise frequent independent judgment while performing a variety of administrative and support tasks relative to various phases of the Recreation Programs in the City of Seminole's Recreation Department. Work is performed under the direction of the Recreation Superintendent. The work hours will include evenings and various weekends depending on programs activities and events.

The starting salary will be: $46,756.63 - $51,432.29, depending upon qualifications. Hiring range is $46,756.63 - $48,159.32. A competitive benefit package is provided. The hiring process includes a Level II background investigation and drug screen.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Leisure Services, Physical Education, Sports Management or a related field AND a minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in Parks and Recreation or Leisure Services (including 1 (one) year of supervisory experience); a valid Florida driver’s license; Ability to obtain a Class C CDL driver’s license within one (1) year of employment.  Ability to obtain certification in CPR, First Aide & AED within the first six (6) months of employment. Ability to pass rigid background investigation as required by the City and Florida Department of Children and Families.
