Job Description

FIREFIGHTER/EMT:

The City of Seminole Fire Rescue Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Firefighter/EMT working 24/48 hour shift work. The selected candidates will be required to attain paramedic certification within two (2) years from the date of hire.

The starting salary is $41,700/year and a competitive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

At time of oral interview, applicant must possess valid Florida EMT certification. State of Florida Firefighter II Minimum Standards Compliance Certificate is required.  Applicant must also be AHA Basic Life Support certified, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

Minimum Florida Class E driver’s license and valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) required at time of hire; high school diploma/equivalent also required. Pinellas County EMT Certification preferred.

 

 

Additional Information

Compliance with Florida Statute 633.34 is required including no tobacco product usage for a period of twelve months (12) months preceding employment, and be non-smoking/non-tobacco user throughout employment. Tattoos are permitted subject to the conditions outlined in Department Directive 14-002. An extensive background investigation will be conducted. Veterans Preference, EOE, DFWP.
