Job Description

Under the supervision and guidance of the City Manager or designee, this position is responsible for the development and administration of elements of the City's public information and public awareness programs. Responsible for performing assigned duties related to the management of the City of Seminole’s communications strategies and objectives.  This position is responsible for providing information to the public, City of Seminole employees, and the media, regarding City events, initiatives, and community updates.

This position acts as the principle liaison for general City publications and collateral production; creates strategies and integrates traditional media and new digital media; and prepares, coordinates, and disseminates press releases, public service announcements, and other communications.  Creates and distributes periodic marketing newsletters to drive program awareness and participation in establishing consistency in copy content with brand and positioning messages and ensuring published content maintains compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Pay Range: $19.75 - $29.63per hour

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Marketing, or other related field.  Position requires a minimum of three (3) years specific vocational preparation, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with preference in local government.   Must have the ability to organize and administer various functions simultaneously while maintaining effective working relationships with fellow employees and the general public.  Ability to continuously maintain a positive public profile.  Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to think and react quickly to changing situations and manage multiple priorities. Detail oriented with ability to produce polished and accurate work products.
