Job Description

The Parks Technician performs skilled, technical, and manual work in various activities involving grounds maintenance and landscaping of City parks, City properties, right-of-way areas and roadway medians.  Work is performed with considerable independent judgment under the general supervision of the Parks & Grounds Supervisor.

  • Performs skilled and difficult tasks regarding of landscape plants and turf.
  • Performs irrigation and pond fountain repairs.
  • Oversees turf maintenance, monitors and controls the irrigation systems.
  • Responsible for assigning tasks and training staff as assigned.
  • During occasions of local emergencies, this position shall be required to perform emergency tasks which may result in extended work hours as well as extended periods of time away from family members.

Pay Range: $15.28 - $22.15 per hour. 

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma required. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in landscape maintenance, nursery, or horticultural operation; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
