Job Description

Recreation Leader I (25 Hour) :
The City of Seminole is seeking a responsible, professional individual to assist our Program Coordinator of camps; and senior, teen, and youth programs.  This position will be responsible for for assisting with recreation programming with a focus on youth programs and providing customer service at the front counter. The hours for this position will vary, but will be required to work evening and Saturday hours, as that is when most of the youth programming will take place.

Starting salary is $12.5727/hour. The salary range is $12.57 to $18.23/hour.  A background investigation and a drug screen will be conducted on the successful candidate.

Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma. Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license; Possession of valid CPR/First Aid certifications or ability to obtain required certifications within 6 (six) months of employment. Knowledge of e-sports, trends in e-sports, and interest in developing e-sports activities. 

The Position:
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and possess strong organization and communication skills. A strong desire for excellence and experience providing customer service to a diverse community is desired. Additionally, candidates may be assigned to any of the following program areas: Front Desk, Programs, Camps and assisting with Special Events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions of the classification may include, but are not limited to, the functions below and are subject to changes in operational necessity.

  • Customer Service: Responsibilities include assisting patrons with check-in, taking payments, answering multi-line telephones, meeting and anticipating client needs in a dynamic environment and other various clerical duties as assigned.
  • Facilities: May be responsible for opening and closing facilities, setting up tables and chairs, orientation and facility tours to renters, assisting with audio/visual needs, monitoring events to ensure that all activities and participants are in compliance with facility rules and policies.

Qualifications

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalency certificate, and a valid Florida driver’s license. CPR and First Aid certifications must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.  Fitness and/or marketing interest is preferred.
