Job Description

Recreation Leader II (20 Hour Athletics):
The City of Seminole is seeking a responsible, professional individual to perform a variety of duties for the city’s recreational facilities. The duties include providing customer service, clerical and administrative support for the Athletics Division. This is a part-time position working from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday – Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours scheduled as needed.

Starting salary is $12.5727/hour. The salary range is $12.57 to $18.23/hour.  A background investigation and a drug screen will be conducted on the successful candidate.

The Position:
The Recreation Division is dedicated to keeping the Seminole Community active and engaged by providing comprehensive Recreation Programming and events for residents and visitors of Seminole. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and possess strong organization and communication skills. A strong desire for excellence and experience providing customer service to a diverse community is desired. Candidates may be assigned to any of the following program areas: Front Desk, Sports Programs, Fitness Programs and assisting with Aquatics and Special Events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions of the classification may include, but are not limited to, the functions below and are subject to changes in operational necessity.

Customer Service:

Responsibilities include assisting patrons with check-in, taking payments, answering multi-line telephones, meeting and anticipating client needs in a dynamic environment and other various clerical duties as assigned.

Sports Programs:

Assist Recreation Leader II by attaining quotes for sports equipment, creating social media posts, organizing membership enrollment forms, confirming t-shirt sizes and other tasks as assigned

Facilities:

May be responsible for opening and closing facilities, setting up tables and chairs, orientation and facility tours to renters, assisting with audio/visual needs, monitoring events to ensure that all activities and participants are in compliance with facility rules and policies.

Qualifications

Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma. Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license; Possession of valid CPR/First Aid certifications or ability to obtain required certifications within 6 (six) months of employment.
