Job Description

The City of Seminole is seeking a Streets and Stormwater Technician to perform technical, analytical and administrative duties to assist with the implementation and management of the City’s stormwater and asset programs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensures compliance with NPDES permit requirements
  • Coordinates and conducts stormwater infrastructure inspections
  • Investigates illicit discharge complaints
  • Assists with maintenance and repoair of streets and stormwater assets
  • Operates trucks, tractors, and other light equipment as needed
  • Coordinates preparation of annual NPDES reports

 

The salary range is $17.69 per hour to $25.65 per hour.

Work hours are Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

A valid Florida driver’s license, and a high school diploma/equivalent.  Minimum of one (1) year of related experience in stormwater or roadway construction experience and/or maintenance.  Posession of or, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment, Pinellas County Best Management Practices certification, FDEP Stormwater, Erosion, & Sedimentation Control Inspector certification, FSA Stormwater Operator Level 1 and Level 2.  Prefer at least one year experience in environmental permitting, stormwater management, NPDES reporting, or conducting stormwater inspections and investigations. The successful candidate must possess the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within one year of employment.  A thorough background investigation and a drug screen will be performed.
