Under immediate supervision, is responsible for professional level work in the nutrition services programs for the elderly or Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), requiring continuous nutrition service, such as nutrition assessment, nutrition education and nutrition intake analysis. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff.
This position is a "grant funded" position, therefore unclassified and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 24 semester hours in Food & Nutrition.
- Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, American Dietetic Association.
- Licensed Dietitian in accordance with Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 701, or obtain within three (3) months of employment.
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Two (2) years of experience working in Community Nutrition.
