Job Description

Under administrative direction, is responsible for providing overall leadership in the strategic planning, development, and execution of data and performance analytics as well as decision support processes. Oversees the analysis, design, development, and testing of analytical query and reporting. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

The ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for leading department-wide data modernization efforts as well as data/technology infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in data analytics or business intelligence, including two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited graduate school, with focus in Public Health, Epidemiology, Public Health Informatics, Health Informatics, Business Analytics, Population Health Science, Data science, Biostatistics or related field.
  • 3 years of experience managing projects and people in settings involving population health data, science, statistics and information systems.
  • Experience leading data-related efforts and strategic plans within public health and government organizations.
  • Experience working on data infrastructure, data systems, or data interoperability initiatives within large organizations.
  • Experience working in a public health IT setting to secure and streamline the use of data systems, software, and technology solutions within public health.
  • Experience in managing staff, projects, and collaborations within data-centered initiatives.
  •  Knowledge of public health strategic plan development and national public health frameworks, particularly with focus on data and technology infrastructure and data modernization.
  • Knowledge of advanced data management, analytic, and geospatial modeling tools and methodologies suited to public health data science.
  • Skills in development of webinars, presentations, and interactive training media for training a non-expert audience.
  • Skills in hiring, mentoring and managing staff, and leading the professional development of employees.
  • Skills in implementation of major quality assurance/performance improvement standards in public health.
