JOB SUMMARY:


Under general supervision and the direction of a Metro Health Medical Doctor and a Clinic Nursing Supervisor, is responsible for administering State or Federal Required or Recommended Immunizations to any client from Infants to the Elderly; coming for services to a San Antonio Metro Health Department Clinic and /or Event location.  As well assisting public health physicians and professional nursing staff in conducting patient health care services in the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District. Working conditions may include clients' homes, but usually in an office or clinic environment with potential exposure to hostile people and infectious diseases. Exercises no supervision.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a State Approved school of vocational or practical nursing.
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
  • License to practice vocational nursing in Texas.
  • Any applicant selected for this position must have a background check completed with results satisfactory to the City of San Antonio and successfully complete the City of San Antonio’s Cash-Handling Certification Training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPR and First Aid Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
