Job Description

The City of Pueblo is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Emergency Medical Officer! As an Emergency Medical Officer (EMO), you’ll assume charge of patient care at the scene, perform advanced life support procedures, and render emergency care as needed. You’ll also operate Fire Department apparatus when necessary, act as Firefighter in all capacities and instruct, or assist, in the instruction of Fire Department CPR, EMT-Basic, EMT 1 and Paramedic Programs. Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years of continuous and successful experience in the fire service
  • A valid Candidate Physical Agility Testing certification (CPAT)
  • A valid state health department approved EMT - Paramedic Certification
  • A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
    • License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification 
    • During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license
