Job Description
The City of Pueblo is looking for qualified candidates to be our next Construction Manager!
As the Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for the supervision of associate field engineers, construction inspectors, and survey parties, ensuring that construction conforms to design drawings and specifications. You’ll also inspect construction sites to ensure City requirements are met, act as a liaison with utility companies and be perform field evaluations. Qualifications
Qualified candidates must meet one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience of four (4) or more persons
- A bachelor's degree or higher education from an accredited college or university and at least six (6) years of experience in the field of civil engineering, surveying, and/or construction management, including a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the construction inspection or contract administration areas
OR
- An associate’s degree or higher education from an accredited college or university or completion of an associate’s degree in Construction Management, or related field within 36 months of appointment to the position and at least eight (8) years of experience in the field of civil engineering, surveying, and/or construction management, including a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the construction inspection or contract administration areas
In addition to meeting the education and experience requirements above, this position also requires the following:
- A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
- License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification
- During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Any of the following additional qualifications may lead to a higher level of success for the selected candidate in the performance of job duties:
- Four (4) years of supervisory experience of four (4) or more persons
- Construction management experience on local, state, and/or federal government projects
- Experience managing projects in the public right-of-way
- Familiarity with 29 CFR 1926 (Safety and Health Regulations for Construction) and 29 CFR 1910 (Occupational Safety and Health Standards)
- Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control frameworks
