Job Description
The City of Pueblo is hiring an Assistant City Attorney I/II/III. As an Assistant City Attorney I/II/III, under the administrative direction of the City Attorney and/or Deputy City Attorney, you will prosecute both criminal and civil violations of the City’s Municipal Code. This is accomplished by advising the City on prosecutorial issues; providing representation in lawsuits; performing legal research; reviewing documents and templates; preparing and drafting briefs, pleadings, and legal opinions; participating in court hearings, administrative proceedings, and trials; providing legal advice relating to risk exposures; and as requested, advising City departments and agencies concerning local, state, and federal legislation. Depending on skills and experience, as determined by the City Attorney, selected candidates may be hired at the Assistant City Attorney I, II, or III level.
Assistant City Attorney I: $74,792.76 - $93,490.92 annually
Assistant City Attorney II: $93,491.04 - $104,911.44 annually
Assistant City Attorney III: $104,912.52 - $128,393.16 annually

Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate degree
- Admission to practice in Colorado and in good standing
- A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
- License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification
- During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license
