Job Description

The Bureau of IT Infrastructure and Support Services aims to provide DOHMH programs and staff, our external partners and providers, and all citizens relying on our systems and services with a highly reliable and available network infrastructure and services for both voice and data. Resilient and centralized data center services for applications and hosting databases, a customer service-oriented and secure computing environment, and delivery of information technology products and resources that have been designed, engineered and implemented to support and facilitate the agency in all our initiatives.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Maintain and update an accurate inventory of desktop equipment, ensuring proper asset management and adherence to company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute the setup and maintenance of audio-visual systems, including conference rooms, presentation equipment, and video conferencing solutions.
- Develop and implement best practices for AV system configuration, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal audio and visual quality.
- Conduct regular assessments of AV equipment, identifying opportunities for upgrades or replacements to meet evolving technological requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise
- Collaborate with vendors and external service providers to coordinate maintenance and repairs of AV equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
- Travel to different locations as required to provide on-site support, perform installations, and oversee AV system setups and upgrades.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Strong understanding of audio-visual systems, equipment, and technologies, including projectors, displays, video conferencing, and sound systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop and AV-related issues, including hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with end-users, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to different agency locations as required.
- Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York. Employees must maintain the license for the duration of their employment.
- IT certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, or AVIXA (Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association) certifications, are a plus

Qualifications

1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or recognized accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience in computer maintenance and repair, one year of which must have been in the supervision of staff performing computer
maintenance and repair; or

2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. Graduation from a certified technical training program in computer maintenance and repair may be substituted for one year of the general experience. Experience of the type described in "1" above may be substituted for high school on the basis of one year of experience for each year of high school. However, all candidates must have the one year of supervisory experience as described in "1" above.
