TASK FORCE: Personnel Management and Administration
JOB TITLE: One (1) Part-Time Driver
CONTROL CODE: PMA-27-02
The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government's chief financial agency. OMB's staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of more than 90 City agencies and entities.
Personnel Management & Administration (PMA) is OMB’s central services department. It is responsible for designing, developing and implementing programs to meet the needs of OMB personnel and for providing timely and efficient services to OMB employees.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The duties of the position include the following activities:
- Provide administrative and reception support including, greeting guests and alerting the OMB host that their guests have arrived, answering telephones, scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, drafting, editing, and formatting all means of communication, maintaining and organizing records and files, tracking and responding to correspondence and other administrative support needs.
- Providing support, personnel and equipment for special events scheduled by OMB.
- Moving of furniture and equipment.
- Facility maintenance including restocking pantry supplies and paper throughout the office.
- Coordination with building engineers for repairs and maintenance throughout the office.
- Backup driver to an Agency official, including:
- Pick-up and drop-off of Agency Executives as needed.
- Checks tires, oil and fuel levels of the vehicles, replenishes fluids as needed, and checks the vehicle to see that lights, horn, and brakes appear to be operating properly.
- Reports any noticeable mechanical defects in the vehicle.
- Prepares Trip Reports, or enters trip data in computerized applications, as required
The position requires the utmost professionalism, discretion, dependability, and detailed knowledge of NYC thoroughfares. The position drives senior government officials and will be required to exhibit complete discretion and maintain absolute privacy regarding any information and issues discussed within the vehicle. This position requires complete dependability, timeliness, and detailed knowledge of NYC.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Admin Assistant/Driver ($25+/hour, Commensurate with experience):
- NYS CDL License Preferred
- 5+ years of experience as a Driver
- Knowledge of NYC Boroughs and driving routes
- A four year high diploma or its educational equivalent preferred
- 3+ years of related administrative and secretarial experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have great Customer Service Skills
Driver License Requirement: By the time you are appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspension(s) or an accident record, you may be disqualified. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
