The Team You’ll Work With:
The Mayor’s Office Information Technology Department collaborates with other city agencies to implement IT policy, procedures, and develop secure tools/applications for use by multiple agencies. IT also partners with other departments in the Mayor’s Office to develop tools and applications that streamline processes, measure performance/metrics, and increase productivity.
The Problems You’ll Solve:
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, scalable, and secure web applications, APIs, and enterprise solutions using the .NET framework, modern web technologies, and the Microsoft Azure cloud stack.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical designs, scalable solutions, and high-level technical blueprints in collaboration with cross-functional teams and business analysts.
- Design and implement application architectures, integrations, and data solutions that seamlessly connect enterprise systems, databases, third-party tools, RESTful APIs, cloud services, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM while maintaining data integrity and accessibility.
- Provide ongoing support, maintenance, monitoring, and enhancement of critical citywide applications, ensuring system stability, reliability, security, and uninterrupted service for users.
- Diagnose and resolve application defects, production issues, system malfunctions, and performance problems across the technology stack. Optimize applications and code to meet business requirements and service-level expectations.
- Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests, participate in quality assurance activities, conduct code reviews, and ensure applications meet established standards for reliability, maintainability, performance, and functionality.
- Collaborate with the City's Cyber Command and relevant IT teams to ensure applications meet security accreditation, OTI compliance, data protection, and enterprise technology standards. Apply secure development practices throughout the application lifecycle.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, system roadmaps, source code repositories, and deployment procedures. Gather and incorporate user feedback, provide training and application support to business teams, research emerging technologies, and recommend innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency.

- You will work collaboratively with IT staff, end users, and agency personnel in a professional office environment to understand needs and deliver effective technology solutions.
- You can demonstrate adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning, staying current with evolving technologies and improving application functionality and user experience.

Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time software experience in designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, and enhancing computer software applications, systems programming, systems analysis and design, data communication software, or database design and programming, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six (6) years of full-time satisfactory software experience as described in “1" above, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
