Job Description
Hours: Full-Time – 35 Hours
Work Location: 777 Third Avenue, Manhattan, NY
The Department of Design and Construction, Borough Based Jails (BBJ) Program seeks a Project Coordinator. The selected candidate will be the point of contact with various project stakeholders, including community groups though the Community Construction Laison (CCL) offices, throughout the planning, scoping, design, and construction procurement phase and assigned projects at various design and construction stages. The Project Coordinator will also evaluate project plans and specifications; follow up on completion schedules; appraise the Project Executive of scheduling, construction, and design issues, help keep costs within budget, and liaise among Design-Builders, DDC and all project stakeholders, including community groups, as well as the BBJ CCL offices throughout the four BBJ project sites. Other duties include maintaining comprehensive project history files, help coordinating project schedules, addressing construction and design issues, interfacing and coordinating program management with community stakeholders via the CCLs, reviewing pertinent project documentation, reviewing project correspondence and reports. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for utilizing the agency’s technical resources to ensure that the projects meet BBJ design-build program objectives.
Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
