Job Description

The Healthy Homes Unit, reporting to the Vice President of Healthy Homes and the General Manager, oversees operationalizing environmental hazard compliance efforts. The Office of Mold Assessment and Remediation is responsible for managing mold assessment and remediation contracts, ventilation modernization contracts, performance management, providing quality assurance and providing technical assistance to support Public Housing Operations for mold remediation at NYCHA.

Under general supervision, City Laborer workers will perform common laboring work assisting in routine maintenance and repair work; performing related work.
Specific duties shall include, but not be limited to the following:

1. Perform labor requiring physical strength in the support of maintenance functions on NYCHA infrastructure.
2. Move, lift and carry items of various weights and sizes.
3. May utilize hand or power-driven equipment in the performance of duties.
4. May be required to operate motor vehicles in connection with the performance of duties.
5. By assignment, may oversee the daily activity of other laborers in the performance of their duties.
