THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $62,868.00 - $72,298.00
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.
The Division of Youth and Family Justice (DYFJ) provides a wide range of services and programs for youth at every stage of the juvenile justice process. Our goals are to (a) build stronger and safer communities and advance public safety by preventing juveniles from entering the New York City's juvenile justice system, (b) provide therapeutic treatment and services to youth in our custodial care, and (c) help juveniles access the tools they need to leave the justice system for good. We strive to help families and young people by providing supportive services that are responsive to the needs of individual youth and families.
The Office of the Chief Operating Officer supports key inter- and intra-divisional priorities within DYFJ including Youth Development Specialist (YDS) recruitment and retention, organizational capacity building and business process mapping and improvement. Additionally, the Office oversees DYFJ's human resources, budget planning and management, contract management and information technology management activities. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work supporting New York City’s youth justice system, while gaining hands-on experience in contract management, interagency collaboration, and program performance monitoring.
Under general supervision, the Procurement Coordinator will support contract and quality assurance functions across a portfolio of youth justice programs. They play a key role in supporting program oversight, data tracking, and coordination with contracted providers to promote high-quality services for youth in DYFJ’s continuum of care.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Prepare and submit procurement requests to meet the needs of the Division, including conducting research on pricing and communicating with goods and services providers and organizations.
- Review and verify vendor invoices to ensure proper billing.
- Research vendors, grants, and procurement options in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate and develop relationships with vendors and other community partners to meet Division’s OTPS and budget needs.
- Assist vendors and staff in navigating City procurement processes to ensure strong partnerships.
- Manage contracts and vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Prepare budgets and conduct analysis concerning the providers operations.
- Analyze contractor reports, prepares summaries, manages renewals, amendments and close outs.
- Collect, collate and compile data/information in order to prepare and maintain current records.
- Track and report the status of all procurement and financial actions within the Division.
- Assist with special projects, which may include grant preparation or monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders using various platforms, including email, phone, and direct contact.
- Collaborate with Program, Quality Assurance, Fiscal, and ACCO teams as needed to support the efficient delivery of services to justice-involved youth.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
