The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Project Controls Division, seeks a Design and Construction Innovation Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for advancing DDC’s virtual design and construction practice and the use of innovative technologies in DDC’s design and construction planning and administration to improve cost and schedule performance. The candidate will act as construction technologist staying abreast of industry trends by researching innovative technologies for construction projects and help develop related policies and procedures. The candidate will provide advisory support to stakeholder engagements across the Agency and provide analysis, recommendations, and presentations on how innovative technology can be utilized for saving cost and increasing speed of project delivery. This candidate may work closely with counterparts in project delivery teams and support their adoption of innovative solutions. Innovative technologies include digital delivery elements such as 3D model, Building Information Models (BIM), reality capture, photogrammetry, virtual progress tracking tools, project and construction management software administration. Responsibilities also include research and evaluation of tools and techniques involving artificial intelligence, generative design tools, and IoT devices to reduce project cost and schedule.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
