Job Description
Perform advanced warehouse and inventory control functions in support of NYCHA operations. Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing materials and supplies; maintaining accurate and perpetual inventory records; conducting cycle counts and assisting with physical inventories; and utilizing systems such as Oracle and Maximo for inventory tracking.
The position also provides day-to-day operational oversight and coordination of Housing Stock Worker Level 1 employees and Caretaker I staff assigned to storeroom and material distribution functions, ensuring adherence to inventory control procedures, proper material handling, and accurate documentation.
The selected candidate will report to a Supervisor of Housing Stock Workers, Assistant Director, or other designated managerial staff within the Logistics & Inventory unit. Provide task-level oversight and coordination to:
- Housing Stock Worker Level 1 staff.
- Caretaker I staff (as it relates to materials handling, ordering, and storeroom operations).
Work under general supervision. Assignments are provided through established procedures, work schedules, and operational priorities. The employee is expected to independently carry out responsibilities and provide guidance to assigned staff, escalating complex or non-routine issues to supervisory personnel.
Exercises moderate latitude in performing duties independently:
- Identify and resolve routine inventory discrepancies.
- Verify accuracy of materials received and distributed.
- Ensure proper storage and documentation.
- Coordinate daily work activities of assigned Stock Workers and Caretaker I staff.
