Job Description

THIS POSTING IS FOR TWO (2) POSITIONS

On June 16, 2022, Governor Kathy Hochul signed the NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust Act, which authorized the creation of the NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust (the Trust). The Trust is a public benefit corporation that will oversee the renovation and rehabilitation of the City’s public housing developments, owned by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). NYCHA will remain the permanent owner of the land/buildings and will enter a long-term ground lease with the Trust to secure Section 8 vouchers.

The selected Secretary 3A will be a NYCHA employee assigned to Nostrand Houses and will work on behalf of the NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust. As Nostrand Houses converts to and operates under the Project-Based Section 8 program, the Secretary will provide administrative and clerical support to the on-site Property Management team. They will assist with the preparation of reports, legal notices, disposition work orders, and notices for apartment inspections. They will also be responsible for handling correspondence for supervisors to communicate with residents, community leaders, vendors and other NYCHA departments.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Perform receptionist duties, monitor complaints.
- Responsible for staff timekeeping.
- Collect reports and input data; prepare and develop spreadsheets in Excel.
- Process uncollected accounts.
- Process transfers through Siebel.
- Process orders in Oracle for office supplies.
- Distribution of mail pouch; file and type.

Note: Preferred candidates are those already serving and experienced in title.

Qualifications

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization?

Skills Requirement: You will be required to meet the typing skills requirement by demonstrating the ability to type accurately on a personal computer at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute after errors are deducted. You must meet this requirement in order to be appointed.
