Job Description

Under direction, performs responsible professional work in the communication of information regarding the functions and activities of the Department of Buildings:

- Develop and help execute the agency’s strategy and content development for social media
- Develop creative and compelling copy, videos, and other work product to use on social media, in marketing materials, and other multimedia projects, and across other communications channels
- Provide strategic guidance and support on synergizing messaging and aligning goals across communications channels, including social media, marketing, press, and multimedia platforms
- Work with the agency’s outreach programs to create media campaigns, safety campaigns, and industry service notices for print, digital, and social media
- Assist in the managing of the agency’s social media accounts, including creating content, responding to questions and comments from the public, and managing social media campaigns
- Leverage social media to foster relationships with community stakeholders
- Assist the Audio Visual Officer and Archivist with agency’s photography and videography services
- Assist with maintenance of agency’s external facing website and employee Intranet and newsletters, ensuring that content is accurate and relevant
- Analyze social media trends and website usage
- Assist the Press team with communications with media outlets and response to large-scale emergencies

REMOTE WORK:
This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
