Position Summary:

Our Summer Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain rewarding work experience, while also making important contributions to the City of New York. During the program, interns will support departmental projects, work alongside experienced professionals, and participate in enrichment activities such as networking events and training workshops.

The Loans & TDA (Tax-Deferred Annuity) unit is seeking four (4) motivated and detail-oriented students to join the team for the spring and summer. If you have an interest in accounting, finance, or retirement planning, and enjoy working with data and processes that require precision and accuracy, this opportunity is perfect for you!

Key Responsibilities:

- RMD Management: A Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) is the minimum amount that retirement plan participants must withdraw annually from certain retirement accounts once they reach retirement age. As an intern, you will assist in reviewing and processing a high volume of RMD-related documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Loan and Withdrawal Review: Assist the team in reviewing loan and withdrawal applications. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that all requests are processed efficiently and accurately.

- Data Cleanup: Participate in ongoing data quality and cleanup efforts related to loans and withdrawals. You will help review, classify, and organize work items according to defined criteria, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our systems.

- Project Support: Contribute to various departmental initiatives and assist other accounting teams with their projects.

Qualifications

As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.
