Job Description

The City of Merritt is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team in a term capacity. The team ensures the City of Merritt meets responsibilities for financial management under the Community Charter and Local Government Act. 

As the Financial Analyst, you will analyze financial data and support the preparation and approval of journal entries, financial reports, and statements. You will also participate in the administration of property taxes and utility billings and related initiatives and projects including establishing an asset management program and related software implementation.

Qualifications

  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or in the process of achieving one.
  • Proficient with related database systems and other financial software.
  • A strong customer focus and ability to communicate effectively and establish effective working relationships
