Job Description

The City of Americus is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Program Coordinator, Americus Main Street. The beginning salary is $ 41,701.00 annually ($20.05 hourly).

As a Program Coordinator you would be responsible for assisting the Director of Americus Main Street and the Downtown Development Authority in efforts to revitalize Downtown Americus through business recruitment & retention, improvements to the downtown infrastructure, community engagement, and events. Responsibilities also include answering telephone calls; greeting visitors; providing customer service functions; organizing the logistics, layout and coordination of public works and the police department for all events; coordinating volunteers, tents, tables, chairs, bathrooms, and any other item or service needed for events; maintaining database and file system of downtown businesses, property owners, volunteers, farmers market vendors; preparing and/or completing various forms, reports, correspondence, newsletters, rack cards, time cards, supply lists, or other documents for the Main Street Program; and preparing agendas and minutes, assembling meeting packets and performing related work as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent; requires one year of secretarial or clerical work or closely related experience; required qualifications ma be an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
