Job Description
This role is flexible in location, offering remote working. Initially you will be required to attend an office for training purposes and once a month following onboarding for team meetings.

Joining us as a GIS Technician
Joining our busy GIS Team, you’ll be given responsibility from day one to start working on your own City projects. Taking responsibility for translating our fibre network infrastructure designs into a GIS environment, allowing us to build a network which is fit for purpose and future proof.
You’ll receive a salary of up to £35,000, a performance related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical and mental wellbeing.
This is some of what you can expect to be doing:
- Using GIS technology, you will be producing data from a variety of sources, analysing and studying your findings
- You'll prepare the design packs for use in the construction phase of the project, ensuring consistent standards are met across the business for all design and as-build documentation
- General administration of the GIS system data and maintaining the asset data in a centralised system
- Effectively applying our design methodology ensuring we are enforcing department and company standards
- Designing of various networks in a GIS environment
What you’ll bring to the role
As a GIS technician you will have experience and knowledge of using GIS systems, seeking an opportunity to utilise and develop your career in a fast paced business.
You’ll also have:
- Some working knowledge of one (or more) in GE Smallworld, PNI, ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS or FME.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to collaborate and work with a variety of different teams across the business
- A degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field with an environmental focus
