Joining us as a Data Protection Manager
As our Data Protection Manager (known internally as Lead Data Protection Manager), you’ll play a crucial role across the Company in safeguarding CityFibre’s privacy and ensuring adherence to the data protection framework. By leading implementation of policies, procedures and protocols, this role will ensure that data protection laws and regulations are met.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:
- Develop and Implement Data Protection Policies: Design and enforce data protection policies and procedure to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act (2018).
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure data processing activities comply with the Data Protection Act (2018) and other regulations.
- Data Breach Response: Manage the data incident and breach process including investigation, remediation, and reporting.
- Training and Awareness: Conduct bespoke training sessions to the business on data protection and privacy best practices.
- Risk Assessments: In tandem with our Legal department, sign off DPIAs and privacy risk assessments for new projects, processes and systems and prepare residual risk summaries.
What you’ll bring to the role
You will have a proven track record in partnering with businesses to upskill staff to uphold privacy standards, shaping and managing our data protection policies and conducting regular risk assessments to keep our data security robust. You should bring expertise in the following key areas:
- Strong knowledge of data protection legislation and implementing a data protection strategy.
- Proven experience of developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures in the UK.
- Experience of managing and overseeing subject access requests and right to erasure requests Data Protection Act (2018).
- Proven experience of the Microsoft Purview suite of applications, including but not limited to eDiscovery, Data Lifecycle Management, Information Protection and Data loss Prevention.
- Experience conducting privacy reviews, control assessments and privacy impact assessments.
