Job Description

This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You’ll join your colleagues in your local office 2-3 days a week. You will also be required to be on-call for set weekly rotations and travel to site as required. The office locations we can offer are Milton Keynes, Irlam or Telford.

Joining us as a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer

CityFibre installs and operates a large number of Micro-Edge Datacentres (FEX) and Fibre Active Cabinets (FAC) across the UK. As our M&E Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the development and delivery of our colocation, datacentre and FEX/FAC portfolio using skills that include design, vendor management, financial modelling, facility, and project management.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:

  • Supporting on architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies
  • Implementing the M&E FEX/FAC lifecycle
  • Implementing the strategy around monitoring
  • Acting as the point of escalation for network issues from tier 3 and engineering
  • Managing key vendor relationships

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll have excellent mechanical and electrical datacentre design and operation experience, as well as the following:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Good vendor management experience
  • 18th Edition Certificate
