How can you change it up?

As our Network Engineer, you will be providing subject matter engineering expertise for CityFibre’s Active Access network components, including PON and Ethernet technologies You will ensure that solutions are delivered at pace in a standard, scalable, and secure manner. You will also be managing our technology and service lifecycle, engendering the “better by design” principle. Some of your other responsibilities will include:  

  • Interpreting internal or external business requirements and recommending solutions 
  • Solving complex problems; taking a broad perspective to identify solutions 
  • Identifying applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems 
  • Being an expert within your function 

What will you bring to the role?

We are looking for someone who has specialist depth and breadth of network design and engineering expertise, especially with Ethernet and PON/ fibre-based networks of scale. You will need a good understanding of layer 2 and 3 technologies, with a focus on Ethernet, CoS and QoS, MPLS, and TCP/IP. It is also crucial that you have experience in mixed vendor environments, product life cycle, and technology refreshes. Along with this, you should have well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
