Company Description

CityFibre has started on an ambitious rollout of Fibre to the Home (https://www.cityfibre.com/gigabit-cities/) across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (https://www.cityfibre.com/residential/). As the CityFibre geographic footprint grows, the need to scale the execution model will increase and will become more urgent. To that end, standardization of approach and process – whether recruiting and retaining talent or resolving design constructability issues - will be critical, including the coordination and communication amongst the various CityFibre teams especially those outside of the Network Build organization. 

Job Description

Primary responsibilities include: (1) leads targeted continuous improvement programs that focus on the identification and resolution of performance gaps within assigned area of the project, (2) sets up the necessary framework to measure success of targeted continuous improvement programs and reports out to management, and (3) supports lessons learned and knowledge share initiatives. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the role entails:

  • Prepares and checks the necessary project procedures and policy
  • Supports the Client’s core objective No1 for the continuous improvement to meet required delivery outputs across the project
  • Directs and coordinates the identification and resolution of performance gaps and process problems in assigned area
  • Leads interface with other functions in identification and resolution of performance gaps in assigned area
  • Directs the technical activities within assigned area and associated to targeted continuous improvement programs
  • Prepares and checks implementation plans
  • Supports the development of training material as required
  • Sets tools to monitor and track the success of targeted continuous improvement programs
  • Sets report structure for reporting to Client and Senior Management within assigned field
  • Works closely with integrated Client team, subconsultants and subcontractors to identify opportunities for improvement
  • May mentor and coach others looking for professional competency in continuous improvement
  • May provide training to project personnel in assigned field
  • May support the PMO & Scaling Office put in place strategy for continuous improvement as the organization scales up and increases operational capacity

Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Blackbelt or equivalent and a recognized degree in science, engineering or related topic from an accredited university
  • Membership to a recognized professional institution
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills and ability to document technical processes
  • Demonstrated experience of working with others and within an integrated Client team
  • Extensive knowledge of and application of continuous improvement within large-scale infrastructure projects, manufacturing, telecomms or aerospace
  • Strategic understanding and experience of Six Sigma and its application within the construction, manufacturing or telecomms industry
  • Demonstrated skill of working with other at all levels including Clients and external stakeholders
  • Willingness and ability to travel to and remain at offices or jobsites in the U.K.
