Reports to: Chief People Officer. Part of the People Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team. Works closely with senior stakeholders (internal and external)
Job Description
As Head of Learning & Development you'll play a key role in leading the creation and delivery of CCH's learning and development strategy. This includes accountability for building capability from Early Careers to professional and leadership development and delivery against the full learning cycle from needs analysis to return on investment. You'll have the opportunity to:
- Shape and drive the L&D strategy aligned to the wider business strategy. Leverage L&D as a source of competitive advantage and enabler of improved business performance
- Lead and develop a high performing L&D team
- Develop leadership capability, ensuring leaders are equipped with the capabilities required for today and the future
- Play a key role in talent development and career planning programmes. Lead the design and execution of career planning and early careers programmes
- Lead the design and execution of coaching and mentoring programmes across the organisation
- Develop functional/technical competence, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels, to identify development needs and deliver impactful development initiatives
- Identify emerging L&D trends and best practices to inform strategic decision making
- Own the LMS and digital learning experience
- Develop and continuously improve performance against L&D metrics. Provide data, insight and reporting to measure and continuously improve performance
- Manage the L&D budget and maximise funding opportunities
Qualifications
You will have a breadth of experience across the learning spectrum and across multiple organisations/sectors. An established leader in this space, you will bring the requisite knowledge and impact to influence colleagues across the business and accelerate our efforts across the learning agenda.
- Strategic orientation. Proven track record of developing and executing learning and development strategy
- Strong leadership capability. Experience of leading L&D teams in large-scale, fast-paced, transformational environments
- Experience of engaging and influencing senior level stakeholders. Demonstrates gravitas. Leverages a strong customer orientation for building credible relationships at all levels both internally and externally
- Excellent knowledge and experience of learning methodologies and facilitation including design and delivery. Accredited Insights practitioner would be an advantage
- Experience of developing and implementing leadership development programmes and competency frameworks
- Coaching and mentoring skills supported by a formal coaching qualification
- Strong communication, influencing and collaboration skills. Influential partner who leads with data informed solutions to secure buy-in from multiple level stakeholders
- Commercial acumen. Able to build programmes that drive improved business performance
- Experience of change management, project management and driving continuous improvement. Leverages a broad external network and knowledge of best practice in other organisations
- Experienced at using LMS and e-learning technology, and using L&D reporting, metrics and insight to drive decision making
- Experience of talent management, career planning and developing Early Careers programmes
- Experience of managing L&D budgets and optimising funding and the apprenticeship levy
- Able to work at pace and relatively autonomously/self-starter
