Job Description

Project: Engagement Survey and Programs Launch

We are looking for individuals who:

As a People Science & Strategy Analyst, you will:

Work under the direction of principal and senior analysts to perform professional work in analyzing, researching, and consulting functions related to: competency modeling, employee engagement, people analytics, talent management consulting, workforce planning, and racial equity. Specific duties will include:

  • Provide research and best practice-based consultation to business leaders related to talent management strategies.
  • Lead projects, including project scoping, developing project plans, communication plans, and manage external partnerships.
  • Independently compile and analyze data using standard software programs such as Excel; create compelling data visualizations.
  • Manage a portfolio of internal clients to build competency models (i.e., critical technical, behavioral, and leadership competencies required for successful performance).
  • Develop and improve talent management processes (e.g., selection, performance management, career pathing) to align with our competency framework.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to identify actions and recommendations to support SFPUC’s Racial Equity Action Plan and other related initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops to guide business leaders through strategic workforce planning.
  • Develop survey instruments and interview questions to gather data and information.
  • Plan and create content, resources, and communications (e.g., site pages, training guides, newsletters).
  • Prepare and deliver professional, visually appealing reports and engaging presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to diverse, non-technical audiences.
  • Continuously search for opportunities to improve team processes.
  • Direct the work and assist in the professional development of graduate-level interns.
  • To accomplish this work, you will need to leverage multiple, changing technologies. This may include, but is not limited to: Visier (people analytics), Quantum Workplace (engagement suite), Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint (including site development), Survey Monkey, Microsoft Forms, and Adobe Illustrator.

The 1241 Human Resources Analyst will perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:  Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

Education Substitution: Verifiable professional human resources work experience in one or more of the following areas may substitute for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis: recruitment and selection; classification and compensation; employee and/or labor relations; benefits administration; human resources operations; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and personnel training. (One year of experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester or 45 quarter units of college coursework.)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or other closely related field (e.g., Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Applied Social Psychology, Behavioral Psychology)
  • Work experience and/or professional certifications in the areas of: competency modeling, strategic workforce planning, employee experience/engagement, workforce surveys & analytics, diversity, equity & inclusion, and/or talent management consulting.
