Job Description
Under general direction, assists in planning, coordinating and directing the stores administration of the purchasing department of a property control storage facility; performs important duties in the assignment and supervision of storekeeping personnel and the control and inspection of their work; and performs related duties as required
The Stores and Equipment Assistant Supervisor will direct all WWE warehouse functions of supply/equipment for WWE Maintenance, Operations, and Collections and Capital projects; performs important duties in the assignment and supervision of storekeeping personnel and the control and inspection of their work; and performs related duties as required.
This position is responsible for the interpretation, execution and enforcement of established methods and procedures and for the development of new and improved methods and procedures related to modern and efficient storekeeping.
The Stores and Equipment Assistant Supervisor coordinates all storekeeping functions; inspects for proper storage of supplies, cleanliness of premises and adherence to established departmental storekeeping procedures; assures uniformity of methods and procedures in use; assists in coordinating storekeeping activities.
This position oversees and approves requisitions for restocking supplies for use in storekeeping activities. Order material, inspect inventory control records, contact vendors regarding product specifications or other details, inspect material received, write work orders, write specifications for new items, check correctness of requisitions and material orders make purchases from petty cash fund, and check material received registers.
This position works closely with other WWE groups to standardize inventory control procedures. Use computerized inventory management systems to track inventory and perform cycle counts.
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinates all storekeeping and toolroom functions of the San Francisco Public Utilities-Wastewater Treatment WWE.
2. Recommends improved methods and procedures and better use of available facilities and equipment; consults with various departmental personnel to determine their needs and to assist in solving warehouse and other procurement issues but not limited to Purchasing matters
3. Coordinates and supervises the activities of the Division Warehouse
4. Inspects for proper storage of supplies
5. Directs and supervises the receipt, recording, safekeeping, release, and final disposition of all Wastewater inventory
6. Directs the activities of obsolete inventory of wastewater parts
7. Responsible for ordering material, inspect inventory control records, contact vendors regarding product specifications or other details inspect material received for both operational needs and project spare parts
8. Work closely with Asset Management, standardizing inventory control procedures; establishing inventory policy for R&R projects; and developing a coordinated approach for stock replacement of local water and wastewater pipes in accordance adhering with projects
9. Manage stock in the latest version of the SFPUC's computerized maintenance management system (Maximo) in conjunction with informer DataSplice inventory module
10. This position will supervise subordinates
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION: Requires completion of four years of high school, and
EXPERIENCE: Seven years of progressively responsible experience in storekeeping activities, including at least two years as a supervisor of a large or several small storerooms; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
LICENSE: Requires possession of a valid state motor vehicles operator's license.
Desirable Qualifications: The stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring
· Strong knowledge of Maximo (CMMS) procurement, inventory control, Mobile solutions software cycle count and documentation, Oracle Peoplesoft Supply Chain Data management, Wastewater treatment facility
· Forklift Operator License
· Possession of a valid state motor vehicles operations’ license
· Effective communicator in both written and verbal (must have strong communication skills)

Selection Procedures
Minimum Qualification Supplemental Questionnaire (MQSQ): Candidates will be required to complete a MQSQ as part of the employment application. This MQSQ is designed to obtain specific information regarding an applicant's experience in relation to the Minimum Qualifications (MQ) for this position. The MQSQ will be used to evaluate if the applicant possesses the required minimum qualifications.
Supplemental Questionnaire Examination (Weight: 100%)
Candidates meet the minimum qualifications will be sent a Supplemental Questionnaire examination. The Supplemental Questionnaire examination is designed to measure the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position 1938 Stores and Equipment Assistant Supervisor, including but not limited to:
* Ability to supervise, assign, inspect and coordinate the work of a large number of subordinates engaged in storekeeping activities at widely scattered locations.
* Knowledge of the organization of the various department; the materials, supplies, and equipment commonly used in their operation.
* Knowledge of modern storekeeping methods and techniques, as applied to the purchasing department; or a Property Control storage Department; the organization of the various department; the materials; supplies, and equipment commonly used in their operation.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with city and county officers, employee and vendors.

A passing score on the Supplemental Questionnaire must be achieved in order to be placed/ranked on the Eligible List. Candidates will be placed on the eligible list in rank order according to their final score. The hiring department may administer additional position-specific procedures to make final hiring decisions.
Eligible List/Score Report:
A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created, and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established, so applicants can view the ranks, final scores and number of eligible candidates. Applicant information, including names of applicants on the eligible list, shall not be made public unless required by law. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request, once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.
The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be of 6 months, and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.
