Job Description

This position is responsible for small to mid-sized projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Accountable for taking projects through the entire life cycle, tracking progress, ensuring delivery to meet time, cost, and quality objectives. The position may work directly for Senior Project Managers or Program Managers with limited supervision. The position requires knowledge of project management methodologies and full project life cycle processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Models’ ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen’s core values, ethics, and information protection policies.
  • Provide project management expertise in order to plan, organize, control and deliver multiple projects.
  • Work with functional managers across the organization to assure complete and appropriate resourcing of projects; assure compliance with company project management policies and standards. 
  • Create and execute internal project communication plan that includes maintenance of project documents, project meeting highlights and project data; secures documented acceptance of project deliverables.
  • Control project scope and acquire the necessary approval for changes.
  • Participate in and coordinate issue identification and resolution, as well as risk identification and mitigation.
  • Act as liaison with all business units and subject matter experts to maintain strategic link to business needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of MS Office including Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Working knowledge of project management concepts and practices.
  • Ability to solve problems through analytical approaches.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to build and motivate project teams to levels of high performance.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to complete short term projects.
  • Proven organizational and planning skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 4 years

AND

  • 4 or more years overall professional level experience to include 2 or more years as a member of a project team responsible for assignments, timelines, and deliverables.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 or more years of project management experience.
  • 2 or more years’ experience in the insurance industry.
  • PMP Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time listen and converse over the telephone and frequently type on a computer (4 or more hours per day).
