Job Description

Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant will be responsible for the full life cycle of BI analytics including designing and developing data models, reports, and dashboards; data exploration; performing analysis; establishing and driving KPIs; and training end users. The role will require a strong partnership with the leadership team to monitor and
measure our organization’s success and drive data driven decision making. The role will also require on-call coverage and month-end accounting support which occurs on the 1st of every month.


Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, document and improve existing business processes and legacy reporting solutions
  • Interact with various business partners and engineers to gather requirements
  • Conferring with the leadership team to gather requirements and analyze company’s financial and operative KPIs
  • Design, develop, test and deploy BI solutions (data models, reports and dashboards) from end to end
  • Ensure data quality, completeness and accuracy
  • Collaborate with BI support team to resolve data questions, issues, or requests from company-wide stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot and support existing business intelligence reports and dashboards 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or similar field; or equivalent work experience. 
  • 5+ years of related work experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, or a similar field.  
  • Strong SQL experience including advanced query concepts and query performance tuning
  • Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, DataBricks, Snowflake, and Matillion)
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, creative thinking and design skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, ambiguous environment
  • Experience with standard star schema design and development concepts, including fact table types, grain levels, and SCDs
  • Knowledge of MS BI Reporting Stack (SSRS and Power BI)
  • Proven track record of managing BI solutions end-to-end, including requirements gathering with business users, collaboration with backend engineering, front end report development, technical documentation, and end-user training/roll out.
  • Ability to work on-call and month-end support described above
  • Ability to work with team members located in multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision seeking direction as required.
  • Knowledge of multiple database programming languages and knowledge of relational and columnar databases
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
  • Experience with financial and/or accounting data is a plus
