Job Description

Job Type: 4 month contract to possible extension 

Pay: Depends on Experience

Shift: M-F 7am-3:30pm; 30 min lunch

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of commercial/industrial experience with installation/repair/maintenance of plumbing systems
  • Experience with various types of sewer snakes in an industrial/commercial environment
  • Knowledge of FL plumbing code
  • Ability to safely operate a vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks that follow all safe work performance requirements of the company, Safety and Environmental programs and plans;
  • Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of commercial/industrial experience with installation/repair/maintenance of plumbing systems
  • Knowledge of FL plumbing code
  • Backflow preventer testing certification
  • FL plumbing contractor’s license


Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide variety of general plumbing repair work on equipment and systems.
  • Requires hands-on experience and a working knowledge of the principles, practices, materials, tools and equipment used for installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems.
  • Ability to inspect major piping systems, identify operational problems and offer solutions to make permanent repairs in addition to ability to perform basic trouble-shooting on plumbing and other systems in a large-scale commercial, industrial or manufacturing facility;
  • Possess experience working with technology (including video cameras), radios and workstations to record work order data in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS);
  • Ability to layout/plan/develop bill of material and/or provide estimates for plumbing projects. Perform plumbing maintenance and repair work on Domestic Water, DWV (Drain Waste Vent), hot and chilled water, boiler condensate systems and storm drains; acid resistant, BFP/CV (Backflow Preventer/Control Valve) and HW (Hot Water) recirculation systems;
  • Ability to work with copper, PVC, no-hub C.I., hub and spigot and threaded pipe.
  • Willing to assist other maintenance technicians with more complex tasks and projects and perform other duties as assigned by and under supervision of the Maintenance supervisor.
  • May be required to use lifts and ladders, work in confined spaces, as well as work both inside and outside.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally is required, along with some experience with computers, hand-held personal digital assistants (PDAs) and/or tablets.
