Job Description

The Prepaid Products manager acts as a product manager that performs all necessary tasks to aid in the distribution and sales of gift cards. This includes printing, processing, developing, and vendor management.

The manger provides support as necessary to purchasing team, corporate sales team and executive director to ensure flawless execution of sales, distribution and redemption for all gift cards.  This role is the subject matter expert on all things gift cards for Exhibition, The Rec Room and Playdium. They will implement new payment and redemption developments to ensure best in class customer experience.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Prepaid products; this position interacts with various teams across the organization to drive the success of corporate products.  This includes, but is not limited to, Marketing, Fulfillment, Risk, Guest Services and I.T.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure program success by overseeing day-to-day operations of gift card sales through the application of best practice in product management.
  • Manage the distribution and sales of  gift cards sold at Cineplex theatres and online.
  • Collaborating with Marketing to create customer-facing materials, partnering on in-theatre program execution, product re-design, seasonal campaigns and marketing communications.
  • Successfully plan and lead new program/product launches from inception to post-launch activities.
  • Monitor online payment technologies and implement payment enhancements.
  • Oversee the Corporate Sales e-commerce website including communications, CRM system improvements, creative and functionality. Working with IT to ensure continuous site improvements and improved customer experience.
  • Budget and allocate funds for promotional activities, monitoring successes and opportunities for increasing gift card activations.
  • Monitor and track monthly product performance across all channels to ensure that revenue goals are being met and that the products are delivering to expectation. Strong financial acumen an asset.
  • Partner and Vendor management. Assisting with external promotions, product expansion and growth opportunities including third-party card distributors, major retail distributors, and technology providers/manufactures.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Interactive, Operations, Audit, Business Development, Finance and I.T. for ongoing project management and maintenance of the gift card program.
  • Participate in prepaid and payment technologies and industry best practices to ensure Cineplex remains current and is a leader in the industry.


  • A Business, Marketing, or Finance degree at the graduate or undergraduate level
  • Strong business acumen with more than 5-7 years of experience in a strategy/merchandising/marketing role
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good problem solver with the ability to improve process as needed
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Prior gift card experience is preferred
