Job Description

Our Player One Amusement Group has an immediate opening for the position of Sr. Vice President/General Manager, Player One Amusement Group, reporting to the Executive Vice President, Amusement and Leisure.  This position is based out of the Player One Amusement Group office located at 6420 Viscount Road in Mississauga, ON L4V 1H3.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA’s) include:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Player One Amusement Group business unit

  • Develop and implement the businesses multi-year strategic plan

  • Create strategic and annual operating objectives with complete P&L accountability for the business

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with external partners and suppliers

  • Oversee contract negotiations with customers, partners and suppliers

  • Develop and execute a new business/business development strategy

  • Lead new business development efforts for the business unit internationally and at the regional levels;

  • Develop and Manage Capital budgets and expenditures

  • Lead the development and implementation of a marketing plan and promotional activities

  • Create and lead a work environment that provides exciting career opportunities and builds business success

  • Develop and lead change management programs for key business segments

  • Manage business unit risk to protect ongoing business health and reputation

  • Work closely with other Cineplex business  and functional units to support overall strategic objectives

  • Define, develop and implement data collection initiatives, lead cross functional efforts to establish data requirements to assist with strategic planning process

  • Meaningfully contribute as a member of the Cineplex wider senior team

  • Must be self-motivated and be able to manage and motivate others

  • Must lead and develop a team according to Cineplex leadership standards



  • 10 to 15 years in appropriate amusement gaming, entertainment, hospitality or leisure, including direct operations supervisory responsibility on a multi-unit level

  • Highly motivated, energetic and hands-on professional with strong leadership skills who can guide and motivate

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills

  • Strong financial analysis skills

  • Excellent public speaking skills in front of small or large groups

  • Team oriented

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Strong MS Office skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)


  • At minimum, the ideal candidate will have completed a University degree with in business administration, hospitality or a related discipline. An MBA is preferred.

This is a Mississauga-based position but location may be flexible depending on the candidate. Extensive travel in Canada and the US will be required to support potential and existing locations on an ongoing basis (approx. 40% depending on business requirements), usually for 2-4 nights but occasionally longer.
