The Director of Accounting will assist with the establishment and maintenance of Elite’s global accounting policies and procedures. This position has responsibility for the global accounting operations and systems of the company. Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Accounting team, including general ledger, accounts payable, and tax teams. Responsible for the monthly close process, account reconciliations and department KPIs.
  • Work closely with the Controller to assume leadership of projects including cash forecasting and tax and treasury coordination. Will work on highly complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires working with other departments and coming up with innovative solutions.
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements including the quarterly financial pack to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Work with Elite’s external auditors, tax auditors or other 3rd parties and follow applicable regulatory reporting guidelines and manage country statutory filings.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and take a lead role in enhancing current control procedures.
  • Manage monthly financial close including global consolidation for multiple international entities, monitoring close status, communicating open items, adhering to deadlines, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analytics.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements including cash flows, equity roll forward, and footnote disclosures.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve Netsuite system for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with weekly cash flow forecasting in partnership with the FP&A team.
  • Establish and implement best in class tax and cash management processes.
  • Responsible for staff development, performance reviews and manage Accounting team structure in alignment with the Controller.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master's degree in Accounting preferred
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience required, preferably with clients in the software/services or SaaS sectors
  • 5+ years of accounting management experience, preferably in the software/services or SaaS sectors
  • CPA with current license
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Familiarity with multi-country operations
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Concur highly desirable
  • Acquisition integration/purchase accounting experience highly desirable
  • MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Proven track record in leading accounting teams for high-growth software companies in a venture-backed or private-equity setting
  • Experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination, in accordance with US GAAP
  • Successful track record of setting priorities; keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills that support and enable sound decision-making
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environment and work independently, proficiently, efficiently and must be able to meet deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
