Job Description
Salary range: $75,000-$85,000
The District Fitness Manager (DFM) promotes the Chuze Fitness programs by developing successful club-level Fitness Managers (FM) and reinforcing the growth of their programs. As the Fitness representative, the DFM collaborates with all Chuze staff departments, interacts with members, and positively affects the member experience. As a mentor, an advisor, and in-club support, they are responsible for the overall success of the people and programs they lead.
Primary Objectives:
- Facilitate integration of the Team Training and Group Exercise programs and model Chuze culture within the District Team
- Recruit, develop, and lead a team of managers and, in turn, coaches and instructors who deliver an inclusive and innovative fitness experience to members.
- Coach and Support Fitness Managers to operate a well-balanced, financially thoughtful fitness schedule with appropriate staffing at each location
- Identify District needs, formulate an action plan, and deliberate with your Regional Director of Fitness for final implementation
- Establish Accountability for the FMs in all areas of company standards
- Foster community and connections by creating a family-like environment for members
Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- High School Graduate. Bachelor’s Degree in a fitness-related field or current continued education preferred
- Certified Personal Trainer, Nationally Recognized Group Fitness Certification, 2+ years of teaching experience
- CPR/First Aid training
- 3+ years’ experience in multi-unit management or equivalent industry work
- Leadership experience, ability to motivate and cultivate a team
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong computer skills- mastery of Chuze technology platforms
- Able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Capacity to receive and deliver constructive feedback
Pysical Requirements:
- Able to read, write, and speak clearly
- Walking and climbing stairs
- Bending, kneeling, and repetitive arm movement
- Standing for long periods of time
- Primarily in club work with allowable off-site administration
- 40+ hour per week with night and weekend availability
- Travel within district
- Ability to lift at least 30lbs
