Job Description

The  Director of Technology will be crucial in overseeing and leading our technology initiatives, projects, and solutions across the organization. This person will oversee the internal support team, have strong knowledge of technology in the fitness industry, and manage our technology infrastructure while planning and designing for future needs.

  • Provide direction, guidance, and training to a team responsible for technology support, infrastructure, and cybersecurity across all departments and conduct annual performance reviews
  • Recruit, Select, Hire, Train new IT staff
  • Develop, manage, and track the IT department’s annual budget
  • Travel as needed
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report VP of Technology
  • Develop and implement technology policies and procedures to ensure the security and reliability of our systems.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions.
  • Work closely with all departments to identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve business operations.
  • Manage and monitor technology budgets and expenses.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in technology, specifically in the fitness industry, and make recommendations for new tools and technologies that can benefit the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and technology partners.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our technology solutions and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop support service level agreements (SLAs) and reporting to ensure timely resolution of technology issues and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts by evaluating vendor proposals, negotiating contracts, and monitoring vendor performance ensuring adherence to service level agreements, project deliverables, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct project reviews, evaluate systems, and solicit feedback from project team members and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Required)
  • 8-10 years in technology and management (Required)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to analyze complex problems
  • Experience in managing people, a technology support team, and vendors
  • Hands-on technology support experience
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Organized, accountable, and able to set and reach goals
  • Able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Capacity to receive and deliver constructive feedback
  • Ability to work in-office 2-3x a week
