This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody with US GAAP audit experience within practice who is looking for their first move into industry.

Job Description

This role will see you providing best in class financial information to support our internal and external auditors and to ensure that we are compliant with Sarbanes Oxley.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise and prepare information for internal and external auditors
  • Prepare control checks following the completion of the month end process
  • Complete SOX requirements including analysis and testing
  • Enhance and maintain the compliance environment to ensure Chubb UK & Ireland is compliant with corporate policies, IFRS and US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley
  • Support with complete and accurate monthly reporting of the Chubb UK & Ireland result in QlikView (Internal reporting tool) and OneStream (Group reporting tool), through analytical review.
  • Support with the preparation of the month end close, including journal approval and analytical review
  • Enhance and maintain the compliance environment to ensure Chubb UK & Ireland is fully compliant with corporate policies, IFRS & US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, and with good practice generally in internal control.
  • Work with the financial accountant team – act as a mentor and coach to junior members

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an excellent knowledge and experience of controls, a detailed orientated candidate who can get stuck into the detail and make changes

What we would like you to bring to the role:

  • Qualified financial accountant – ACA/ACCA
  • Have strong technical accounting skills from working in Practice or Industry
  • Strong knowledge of controls, ideally Sarbanes Oxley Controls
  • Experience of audit preparation
  • Have strong systems skills including Excel
  • Be a strong communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • The ability to challenge and continuously improve
  • The ability to thrive under pressure
