IT Operational Governance Lead

Chubb now has an opportunity for a IT Operational Governance Lead in Blackburn (hybrid opportunity). The main goal of this role is to play a key role within the IT leadership team, the Operational Governance Lead will be responsible of the smooth operation of a large, dynamic, ambitious and geographically disperse IT team, that has been recently established under new leadership.   Chubb IT covers 5 regions including Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia, and the IT team supports 18 separate countries – supporting a $2.3bn business.

Responsibilities include managing overall IT budget positions, and coordinating key global comms and governance meets (see below for more detail), and would suit either an experienced PMO/IT governance professional, or an enthusiastic candidate with prior IT experience and a desire to move toward more managerial positions.

Chubb has recently separated from its previous parent company, who provided many core IT services and functions for Chubb countries directly; following the acquisition of Chubb by the APi Group, these functions have been/are being stood up from scratch for Chubb to operate standalone. This role represents a rare opportunity to join a new IT organisation as it establishes new core IT services and mobilises a multi-year journey to bring digital transformation to a 200-year-old global business.

Responsibilities:

  • Own Chubb IT functional budgets, and interlock between the Chubb Global Finance team, and the 18 Chubb IT teams, across 5 regions.
  • Support Global CIO in managing global communications, and communications events – liasing with Chubb internal and external communications teams
  • Support Global CIO in developing standard KPIs and metrics to measure performance and output across IT Operations, and Execution/Project work, and implementing across Chubb globally
  • Coordinate/chair recurring IT governance meetings, including Design Review Boards, budget reviews, and Project Review Boards
  • Supporting Global CIO, CTO, and Head of Infrastructure & Service Delivery on vendor and contract management.  Potential to extend to owning Vendor Management, depending on candidates experience in this area

Qualifications

Qualifications/ Experience/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, Computer Science, Management Studies, Economics, Accountancy or related business discipline(s) preferred, but not essential if supported by solid vocational experience
  • 3-5 years of working in either directly within or working closely with an IT department for a comparably sized organization, within a global corporate environment
  • Experience working with or owning functional budgets, ideally IT budgets – including handling of Opex run vs. Capex project budgets, forecasting, etc.
